Jaguar Land Rover Spain has been supporting the Brown Bear Foundation (FOP) for a long time, since the first agreement between the two entities was signed in 2008. Thanks to this support, the FOP Patrols have had Defender model all-terrain vehicles to carry out their daily field work over the years. The monitoring of the species and the conservation work on its habitat have benefited from the excellent performance of the vehicles.

Jaguar Land Rover Spain continues to provide protocol support to the FOP, specifically with four DEFENDER model vehicles, one of which is loaned out.

The collaboration between Endesa and the Brown Bear Foundation (FOP) is part of Endesa’s Biodiversity Conservation Plan, within its Corporate Social Responsibility, and the FOP’s Habitat Program. It includes actions at an environmental and social level, focused on promoting sustainable rural development and the protection of the brown bear in the Pyrenees.

This collaboration is currently taking shape in the project “Enrichment of biodiversity in bear areas of the Pyrenees”, which will be carried out during the period 2024-2027 in the Lleida regions of Valle de Arán and Pallars Sobirá, and which is a continuation of the project that was carried out in the same regions during the period 2020-2022. It includes the creation of a network of fruit groves (beaver, cherry and apple trees of local varieties) that will improve the availability of food for bears and the natural richness of their habitat.

In turn, it will contribute to the capture of CO2 and mitigation against climate change, which is why it is part of the Endesa Forest, with the name Endesa Forest Pyrenees.
